Omschrijving

Georg Wolf, was a landscape, animal, genre, and military painter. He attended artist's school in Straßbourg 1899 - 1901, did his military service 1901 - 1903 in the Bavarian 2nd Infantry Regiment "Kronprinz" in Munich, and attended the Düsseldorf Academy 1906 - 1908. He served in the First World War with his regiment, and numerous paintings of the front come from this period. In 1937, he exhibited an oil painting at the Great German Arts Exhibition in Munich. After the Second World War, Wolf achieved great fame for his masterly paintings of animals and landscapes.
